You are aiming at an executive position or preparing for a company succession and would like to complete a course of studies in business management parallel to your job? The programme International Business Management MBA will, on the basis of your first university degree, impart all the skills that are necessary for executive positions and higher management functions in an international context: essential economic know-how as well as international management competencies and soft skills.
The distance-learning MBA programme International Business Management MBA is an ideal academic further education programme for working professionals as the courses are offered via webinar. Course contents on a scientific level are combined with professional practice. The practical orientation is carried out in close co-operation with the industry. Therefore, graduates of International Business Management have best job and career prospects in industry, trade and service.
The MBA programme International Business Management comprises the following modules:
- Scientific Theory
- Marketing (only offered during the winter semesters)
- Logistics (only offered during the winter semesters)
- Social Skills
- Management (only offered during the summer semesters)
- International Competencies (only offered during the summer semesters)
- Human Resources Management
- Compulsory Elective Modules (2 of 4 selectable modules):
Law, Sociology, Managerial Finance, Macroeconomics
The contents of the programme are designed in such a way as to not only impart theoretical knowledge but also practical competencies in order to make the students able to solve problems of the professional practice.
Postgraduates (applicants holding a first academic university degree):
- completed academic degree, grade point average of 2.5 (German grading system) or better, 210 ECTS; and
- work experience of at least 1 year after the first academic degree in the commercial field; and
- documentary proof of English language skills equating at least with level B2 (CEFR) or equivalent
Applicants with a grade less than required have to pass a colloquium (motivational interview 20–30 minutes).
Applicants with less than 210 ECTS credit points have to take an oral exam (ECTS-exam 30-45 minutes).
Applicants without a university degree:
Under certain conditions, applicants without a first university degree may be admitted to the programme by taking an aptitude test (written exam 60 minutes + motivational interview 20-30 minutes). Admission to the aptitude test requires:
- university entrance qualification + work experience of at least 3 years in in the commercial field + documentary proof of English language skills equating at least with level B2 (CEFR) or equivalent; or
- Bachelor Professional (‘Meisterprüfung’ or comparable examination at the second level of vocational training, e.g. Fachwirt, Fachkaufmann, staatlich geprüfter Techniker) + work experience of at least 1 year in the commercial field + documentary proof of English language skills equating at least with level B2 (CEFR) or equivalent; or
- Master Professional (third level professional qualifications) + documentary proof of English language skills equating at least with level B2 (CEFR) or equivalent. After completing the Master Professional, no further work experience is required for admission to the aptitude test.
The programme consists of a workload of 90 ECTS-points. The internationally recognised degree of "Master of Business Administration" (MBA) is awarded after the successful completion of the course of study.
The Master’s degree opens the way to higher civil service and/or to further academic work for a PhD in accordance with the regulations of the respective universities.
You can also take elements of this course of studies as a certificate programme.
Tuition Fees: 2.250 € /semester
plus social contribution to Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society, University of Applied Sciences to the amount of approx. 150 € /semester

details and procedure
The programme International Business Management MBA is entirely taught in English. It is a modular, four-semester international course of study and allows certain flexibilities so that it is compatible with a current job.
By offering compulsory elective courses in the fourth semester, the programme can be designed by each student according to their individual interests.
The first three semesters are used for self-study with the aid of up-to-date tutorial notes. The courses can be attended via webinar so a visa for Germany is not required.
The fourth semester is used for the completion of the Master’s thesis.
The programme is offered by Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society, University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with the zfh and is accredited by AQAS.
Other cooperations have been set up with the Université Hassan II de Casablanca , Kolegji Universum Pristina and the International University of Sarajevo. It is possible to gain a double degree from two universities. In this case part of the studies are done at the Université Hassan II de Casablanca , at the Kolegji Universum Pristina or the International University of Sarajevo.

Applications are usually possible and recommended for a start in the winter semester.
Application period: 1st April to 30th June
The courses will start in September.
If desired, applicants can also be admitted for the summer semester but will be joining the students who have regulary started in the winter semester in the second semester. Lateral applicants have to take the modul scientific work in addition.
